January 12 is celebrated as National Youth Day in recognition of Swami Vivekananda’s great love for the youth and belief in the power that the youth holds the power to change themselves and their nation.
The morning of 12 January 2022 brought in a lot of excitement as it marked a virtual celebration of National Youth Day with full fun, fervor and frolic at KHMS. An extravaganza of activities was conducted providing a platform to young Kulachians to exhibit their talents.There were a plethora of activities such as : Craft work, Padlet, Discussion about Swami Vivekananda's life and his ideology, Poem recitation, etc.
All the students participated enthusiastically in the celebration. Students learnt great learning lessons from Swami Vivekananda's life and indeed got inspired!
The Ramakrishna Mission and Vivekananda Mission celebrate Swami Vivekananda’s birthday as per the Hindu calendar. In 2022, his birthday falls on January 22nd. It will be his 159th birth anniversary and celebrated in grand style at all Ramakrishna and Vivekananda Mission maths across the world. The biggest festivities will take place at the Belur Math, along the banks of the Ganges in Kolkata.
The best way to honour this great saint is by contemplating on his teachings and looking at how we can apply it to our own life!
