1. Know the Author
Author studies help students develop their reading, writing, research, and critical thinking skills as well as establish a stronger community of readers. Author studies can expose kids to different literary voices and styles and are easily integrated across the curriculum. And they’re fun!
Students of Class 2 Cambridge engaged in finding out about their favourite author Roald Dahl and then penning down a few interesting facts about him.
2. SCIENCE
Ch-Animals-Our Friends
The chapter was introduced in the class through an interesting activity- 'See,think and wonder'.
Learners took a Gallery Walk around four stations that were created. Children observed posters/ material kept at each station. They noted down their observations and interpretations. With a class discussion based on their responses, the concept was introduced.
It was an engaging and intriguing activity that was enjoyed by the whole class.
3. FLIP : An Ordering Number Game
Hands on activities make the concept of comparing and ordering numbers more concrete. An interesting group activity - FLIP was conducted wherein students flipped the face down number cards and arranged them as per the teacher's instructions like " greatest to smallest" and vice versa.The activity encouraged critical thinking and use of correct comparison words as students also explained their act.Students enjoyed and learnt effectively at the same time.
4. The investiture ceremony was held in Primary Wing.The students were decorated with Prefectorial Council badges. Ms. Sneh Verma, Principal,in her address, motivated the students to work hard and fulfill the responsibilities as a role model with diligence and honesty.
Headmistress mam blessed the Council members.
The members of the outgoing Council were also honoured with momentos and certificates as a token of appreciation for their hard work and devotion. The council took its oath of office, committing themselves to their work and duties.
