1. “Breaking the monotony of everyday teaching and learning is fun!”
An intriguing ‘Spellathon’ of difficult words was conducted in class 8. Students carried colourful sheets and scribbled spellings as their respective English teachers dictated the same in the class. It was fun, it was a different way of not only jotting down words, but testing one’s spelling knowledge. Children enjoyed peer checking. It was a great way of not only learning, but also breaking classroom monotony by creating a competitive atmosphere and also, learning at the same time!
2. In this digital age and with so many other avenues of communication available to us, it seems that a school newspaper is outdated and irrelevant, imparting news that has already been hashed to death over social media and student texting.
Students need an outlet for their creativity, ideas, and developing critical thinking skills. So, the English department (class 7,8) has tried to shape an offline newspaper into responsive, dynamic content.The school newsletter is a great way to communicate with parents and students in the school community. They provide information about upcoming events, classroom happenings, and other important announcements.
3.“An investment in Knowledge pays the best interest” – Benjamin Franklin
Financial literacy is important for managing money wisely, making sound financial decisions, and achieving financial stability in life. Keeping this in view, KHMS organized a two-hour CBSE Training for teachers on ‘Financial Literacy and Use of Digital Tools’ on 20 May 2023. The training was conducted by Mr. Himanshu Sharma, an expert corporate consultant with 16 years of advisory experience.
The key highlights of the session were Financial Planning for Employees, Understanding the Basics of retirement plans, Do’s and Don’ts of digital payments followed by Q/A session and feedback.
The training was indeed very informative and beneficial for teachers.
4. Akshara Kaushik, member of Tech4us club, KHMS has won the E-Raksha competition in the category ’WordHack’.
It was an online cyber safety competition organised by NCERT and CyberPeace Foundation. The theme of the competition was “Promoting Safer, Responsible and Peaceful Cyber Space”. KHMS is proud of you Akshara
5. Delhi NCC Directorates celebrated the 25th year of successful Pokhran nuclear test at science center, Pragti Maidan, New Delhi on 12th may 2023.. Below were the main highlights of the event:-

Our school NCC cadets also participated in this event on 12th may 2023. Our NCC cadets also presented their science model on the topic of nuclear energy.
6. The students of Health Club prepared summer dessert Nuts kulfi and faluda. They were demonstrated the methodology of preparing the milk for kulfi with saffron and nuts, making faluda at home with home made cones. The activity was conducted with classes 7, 8,9 and 10. The students showed enthusiasm in the preparation as they recalled the nutritional value of the ingredients used in the preparation and doing hands-on activity of making faluda.
7. Students of Paridhan - the fashion club of KHMS participated in an activity wherein they had to dress and style mini mannequins. The students had a blast as they brain stormed and indulged in this creative endeavour.
8. The students of Fashion Design and Home Science visited JD Institute of Fashion Technology on 16.5.2023. They attended a workshop on material exploration and illustration. The students were sensitised about the sustainable practices in the fashion industry. They were also made aware regarding the scope and job opportunities in the fashion industry.
9. KHMS gives an utmost importance to the safety and security of students. Keeping this in mind, an Online Awareness Workshop on Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse was held in KHMS organized by honorable High Court of India. Two Documentaries on Cyber Bullying and Sexual Abuse were shown to the students mentioning about possible risks, prevention and strategies to report such sensitive concerns.
It was indeed an essential workshop for students.
