SENIOR WING VARIOUS EVENTS IN THE MONTH OF JULY

--Tech4us, the computer club of KHMS held its induction ceremony for the 2024-25 session on 31 July 2024. The event was designed to inspire and integrate the incoming members while reflecting on the club's activities and accomplishments in the previous session.

Our school's MUN Club proudly embarked on the journey of MUN with its very first edition of MUNIVERSE. It is the beginning of an exciting journey where young minds came together to debate, discuss, and find solutions to the world's most pressing issues. The conference officially commenced with the traditional light lamping and a Nukkad Natak. We had Journalist and Anchor Ms Garima Singh as our chief guest. The club extends a heartfelt  thanks to the Executive Board who guided the proceedings with fairness and professionalism and the Delegates for their invaluable contribution. The ceremony came to and end by an enlightening music performance and felicitation of the winners.

-26 July 2024 marked the culmination of Book Club’s three day event-READATHON 1.0. On the third day, participants from class IX-X had to take the Book Reading Challenge wherein each one of them was tasked with reading a book and writing its summary of 100 words within 40 minutes. They were judged on their reading speed, the depth of their knowledge and understanding of the assigned book as well as concision of their words.

 
Students exhibited a strong grasp of the material and a passion for reading, making it a tough competition. 
 
Congratulations to all the participants for their remarkable efforts and commitment towards making Readathon 1.0 a success.

-In order to generate a better understanding of health and its multifarious aspects, the student members of The Kulachi Global Club-Generation Global, classes VII and VIII, attended a video conference on the topic- Health and Well-Being on 29 July 2024. The students of our school interacted with students from Chinamaya Vidyalaya, Annanagar. 

 
The session highlighted the crucial connection between personal empowerment and overall health and well-being. Through interactive discussions and shared experiences, participants gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities impacting health and well-being globally. They explored solutions to promote better access to healthcare, education, and resources, ultimately advocating for a healthier and more equitable future for all.  
 
This collaborative experience not only enriched their knowledge about health and wellbeing issues but also fostered valuable social skills and strengthened their ability to communicate effectively. 
 
The Club Coordinator for VII and VIII, Ms Princi Girotra, and all the participants express their heartfelt gratitude to Madam Principal -Mrs. Sneh Verma and Club Incharge Madam-Ms. Yashu Chhabra for their support in all club endeavors.

-International Friendship Day Assembly at Kulachi Hansraj Model School

Today, the students of classes 7C and 7D at Kulachi Hansraj Model School celebrated International Friendship Day with great enthusiasm and joy. The assembly featured heartfelt speeches, musical performances, and a special role play showcasing the essence of true friendship. Students highlighted how friends stand by each other through thick and thin, making school life memorable and joyous. The event concluded with a beautiful poem on friendship, leaving everyone with a renewed appreciation for their friends. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and the celebration of the invaluable bond of friendship.

- ‘The Read-A-Thon 2.0:’

On 25 July 2024, the Book Club held an event titled ‘The Read-A-Thon 2.0’ - a competition where participants were required to talk about their favorite books and try their best to bring stories and characters alive through their presentation- the second of the three-day long event.
The participants were from Classes 9th and 10th, and the members of the Book Club collectively voted on winners, based on whose performance they liked the most. 
The participants chose various themes of books; some even came up dressed and used small props to illustrate their ideas in front of everyone.
At the end of the event, the participants were asked about their feedback and they all felt satisfied to have been able to present their views and share their love for reading to the audience.
 

-On the occasion of Youth Skills Day, the students of the Generation Global from Class IX,X and XI, along with the club coordinator- Ms. Pallavi Marwah ,participated in a video conference on the topic "The Future of Work." They engaged with students from Gujarat, Canada, Rwanda, Egypt and the UAE. The discussion covered various aspects, such as work culture in different communities, the reasons why people work, the concept of decent work, the dignity of labor, and perspectives on the future of work. The video conference was quite productive and the club looks forward to more such video conferences in the near future!

- Today marked an exciting start of Khms Book Club’s ‘READ-A-THON’ 1.0 with Event-1: Speed Reading Challenge for classes IX-X. Participants dived into passages promptly at 8 AM, racing against the clock to answer 8 questions worth a total of 10 marks. Impressive performances ensued, with our class 9 winner-Aarav (IX-I) scoring 9 out of 10, finishing the task in 16 minutes, whereas our class 10 winner-Unnati (X-H) securing 8 out of 10 marks finishing the passage in just 11 minutes.

- On 24 July 2024, Dharohar- The Heritage Club (VII- VIII) organised an exciting Fireless Cooking Activity aimed at celebrating the rich and diverse culinary heritage of India. The activity focused on showcasing traditional Indian dishes that can be prepared without the use of fire, highlighting the diversity and innovation in Indian cuisine. The event aimed to instill a sense of pride in India's culinary heritage among the participants. The event not only encouraged creativity and innovation but also promoted cultural understanding among the participants.

KHMS believes in providing a great exposure for a holistic development of our students. 
 
With the aim of that, a Two Day Career Fair - लक्ष्य की ओर... was organized on 15th and 16th July 2024 in order to prepare students of Class 10th, 11th and 12th for their vast Career Opportunities.
 
On Day 1, Career counselling sessions 
were organised on various emerging conventional and non-conventional career opportunities in all streams.
 
On Day 2 various National/ International Universities and Institutes interacted with students of class 10th, 11th and 12th to directly share career information. 
 
Career Stalls were present for disseminating details on Study Abroad, Fashion Studies, Design, Law, H.M, Culinary Arts, Liberal Arts and Science, forensic and bio etc. 
Representatives of universities like Ashoka University, FDDI, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amity, SRM University etc discussed important courses, Method of entries, Eligibility criterias etc with students and Parents. 
 
Overseas Options like Australia,  Canada, UK ,US ,Germany and Spain were explored.
 
This Two Day Career Fair proved to be successful in promoting Career Development in students, making their transition from school to higher education comfortable, and to bring about a holistic and all round development of students including educational and career dimensions.

The Induction Ceremony of KHMS Interact Club was held on 19th July, 2024.Our guest of honour was Madam Principal Ms. Sneh Verma, Rotarian Pragyan Pradip Sharma (President of Rotary Club of Delhi Garden City), Secretary Mr. Rahul Narayanan,Ms. Yashu Kumar Supervisory Head XI-XII,Ms. Jyoti Dhir and Mr. Rajeev Taneja.
The ceremony started with " Tree Plantation " which symbolised " Planting a Hope ".This was followed by The Lighting of the Lamp. 
Madam Principal Ms. Sneh Verma and Rotarian Pragyan Pradip Sharma enlightened us with their benevolent words. 
This was followed by transfer of leadership from former President Kaashvi Marwah to newly elected President Navya Dixit and her team who pledged for serving humanity in all aspects of life!

Morning assembly conducted by classes 8C and D themed “Living together in peace” aimed to foster a deeper understanding of unity and harmony within our diverse community.
The assembly was a dedicated effort to promote understanding and harmony among our diverse surroundings.
In conclusion, the assembly  was a meaningful event that left a profound impact on everyone present. It reinforced the importance of embracing diversity and working together towards a common goal of peace and understanding.

- Food Culture Adventure
 
Four students of Class 10 B : Etasha Jain, Prachi Agarwal, Aarav Verma and Samik Sharma attended Youth Camp in Kalimpong (West Bengal) from 11-14 June 2024. The youth camp was organised by Goethe Institut for German Learners. 
The learners got to know about the European and Indian food culture and dealt creatively with the similarities and differences among the various cuisines and created fusion recipes celebrating both the cultures.

 

- FABRIC FLOWER ACCESSORIES (4th July 2024, Thursday)

 
The students of PARIDHAN - The Fashion Club of Kulachi Hansraj Model School tried their hands at making fabric based flowers and accessories them with buttons and beads. All the students participated in the activity with great enthusiasm and took pride in being able to get the desired end product. 
We look forward to working together with them for more such activities with equal excitement and zeal. 
 
- Rice Paper Sheet Fun! 
(Healthy Alternatives - The Health and Culinary Club) 
Cooking is not only a fun activity for children, but helps children to develop school readiness skills. The students of class 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th of Health and Culinary Club of Kulachi Hansraj Model School prepared vegetable and paneer Dumplings with a magical twist using rice paper sheets instead of refined white flour. Students learned some specific cooking skills like cutting, sauteing, and folding and tried their  hands on an international cuisine.
Students participated with great zeal. Their main focus was on overall presentation, creativity, nutrition and taste.
 
-Kulachi Hansraj Model School is proud to be part of the event “Digital Shakti 5.0” organised by National Commision for Women and Cyber Peace Foundation. The event was held at Vigyan Bhawan on 5 July 2024.
‘Digital Shakti,’ a global digital literacy program in collaboration with CyberPeace, aimed at empowering women and young girls with essential cyber skills and knowledge in advanced technologies like AI, ML, Blockchain, and Quantum Computing.
The event started with the lamp lighting and felicitations of chief guest Mr. Sanjay Seth (Raksha Rajya Mantri) and Mr. S.P. Singh Baghel (Member of Lok Sabha).
It was followed by the launch of Navchetna || Empowering Voices - The National Commission for Women podcast and a Digital Handbook authored by Ms. Rekha Sharma (Chairperson of NCW).
The handbook  is about legal guide to keeping oneself safe in cyber world. It also informs about rules  of responsible online behaviour and Cyber skilling for Women and Girls.
This was followed by a panel discussion by eminent personalities on the topic “ Empowering women through cyber skills: Bridging the gender gap in Tech and AI” and “Cyber Wellness and Mental Health: Addressing psychological impact of cyber threats.
Students of Tech4us club are proud to attend the event and  become aware of the importance of empowering women through cyber skills. Students attending the event are expected to be Digital Shakti volunteers and First responders dedicated to spreading digital literacy and building cyber resilience in communities.
